Chicago’s Premier Soul and Blues Band
Joe Pratt and THE SOURCE is a live soul and R&B revue built around groove, memory, and connection. Its members came up playing this music in real rooms for real audiences—alongside artists and legends who shaped the Chicago soul tradition.
Rather than recreating the past, THE SOURCE brings the spirit of Motown and classic soul forward—tight rhythms, familiar hooks, and the kind of feel that turns a crowd into shared voices and movement. Every show is about energy, interaction, and momentum.

Joe Pratt and The Source performs as a unified ensemble rooted in Chicago soul, R&B, and blues tradition. The band’s focus is on feel, groove, and the shared experience between musicians and audience—delivering music that is alive in the room, not rehearsed by rote.
Joe Pratt leads the band as frontman and musical director, guiding the sound, pacing, and onstage energy that define THE SOURCE.
